Wow - this trip is going fast!

    Updated: Sep 26, 2023

Can't believe it's been 4 days since we left Niagara Falls! We've visited both Toronto and Calgary in the last several days!

Toronto is a big busy city with lots of construction going on. It's lovely with lots of parks (reminded me of NYC) but also Chicago with its own Lakeshore Drive showcasing Lake Ontario.

Normally when I visit a city for the 1st time, I make use of the hop-on/hop-off bus. Unfortunately here in Toronto, there is so much construction the best stops were closed. We used the subway and streetcar to get around. We visited the Eaton Center to acquire a Pandora maple leaf charm and the Dala shoe museum. Really interesting but glad we've come to our senses about shoes!

On our 2nd day in Toronto we did a foodie tour of the Kensington Market. Thinking it was like many European markets, in a big building, we were surprised to find our tour covering an eclectic and diverse neighborhood! The food tastings were fun - including bagels, empanadas, fish and chips, just to name a few! Our afternoon was spent at the CN Tower - spectacular views of the city and lake!

Calgary: after a long flight from Toronto, we arrived in Calgary. Our hotel, the Fairmont Palliser, is lovely! So lovely in fact, we declared a day off and hung out and got some much-needed rest! Today, we enjoyed a city tour. Calgary is interesting with a great pedestrian street and its tower which gives us incredible views of the Canadian prairies!

Tomorrow we are off to Banff and Lake Louise!

Remembered I didn't post any pictures - so here are a few!

    More soon!
